When thinking of Ontario Cottage Rentals many things come to mind, swimming, campfires, paddling in canoes & kayaks, fishing off the dock and BBQing with friends and family. At River Edge, you can do all that while also enjoying the spectacular view of the rapids and relaxing in the hot tub or sauna, right over the river edge!
This peaceful escape features 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms for you and up to 10 additional guests. Whether you’re looking to spend time outdoors with all the toys and features you can think of or inside challenging your friends at the billiards table in the lower-level games room, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this cottage.
Nestled on a quiet lane almost half way between the popular towns of Minden and Lindsay, Ontario, this is a nature lovers' paradise. The cottage is located on the Burnt River with the most amazing view of the rapids. As soon as you open your car door, you’ll hear the quiet rush of running water and will be mesmerized by the view of the rapids as you walk the few steps from the parking area to the low wooden fence. I’d be surprised if anyone made their way to the cottage’s front door before checking out the river’s edge first!
Along the back of the property, you’ll find an entertainer's playground to suit guests of all ages, in every season. Surrounded by cedars, you’ll have lots of space to explore and while there are neighbours along the lane, the yard space is quite private. As you make your way past the hot tub, screened porch and firepit, you’ll find a gated set of stairs down to the sauna and watercraft. Just a few more steps and you’ll be at the dock ready to jump in or paddle. With the nature of the rapids, it is recommended that children and those not as comfortable swimming in a current, wear a lifejacket when going in the water.
Inside the cottage to the left of the foyer, you’ll find a large harvest dining table with seating for all of your guests to enjoy meals together, a fully equipped kitchen and the family room with TV and a woodstove for cozy evenings snuggling up on the oversized couches. Down the hallway to the right, you’ll find the three bedrooms, a fully renovated 4 piece bath and an additional 2 piece bathroom in the primary suite. The bedrooms have been set up with families in mind, allowing parents to have full sized beds, with upper bunk options for their children. Each bedroom prominently features a view of the river, you won’t need to bring a white noise machine or play any nature sounds apps to drift off to sleep here!
River Edge is such a unique hidden gem, full of Instagram worthy photo ops and fun for every age group, we’re sure you’ll want to experience it in every season!

Somerville Tract Forest. 8.7-km loop trail near Kawartha Lakes, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 27 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. (10 mins)
The Links at Monck's Landing. Links at Monck's Landing is a "links-style" layout, inspired by the classic golf courses of the British Isles: treeless, rolling terrain, pot bunkers, high fescue rough. Just outside of Norland, Ontario, Monck's Landing is a family-run operation, offering "golf for golfers," that presents a unique golf experience sure to be appreciated by those who enjoy the history and traditions of the game.
Wild Country Disc Golf. This course is open seven days a week by appointment. The teepad for hole 3 offers a great vantage of the course and a unique spot for selfies!
